A mission statement of sorts for the future of the Pecan Tree Log
Woodworking, Design, Organization, Home, Small Business, Intro, Blog
Howdy, I'm Deric Jennings and I own Pecan Tree Design, located in north east Texas, just outside of Dallas. I know "Howdy" is a bit of an unusual salutation to start with, but I like it and adopted it as my own. It's even more unusual if you know, I'm not a native Texan, nope, I was born, and for the most part, raised in northern Missouri. I moved to Texas as a child and split my time between the two. So "Howdy" is a definite choice. Anyone can greet you with a arrogant "Hey", morose "Hello", or even a terse "hi", but how often are you greeted with a warm, welcoming and joyous "Howdy"?

A life time of creativity and exploration
I've always been a creative person who enjoys games and grew up surrounded by storytellers. As I built each project, I wanted to share that experience with anyone who wanted to listen, like the storytellers of my youth. I've done this in a number of ways and now I'm expanding to this blog, or log as I'll call it; The Pecan Tree Log.
A lifetime of creativity, fun and games
Growing up, I had a hammer in one hand and a game controller in the other. I explored several creative outlets over the years, from photography and illustration to theater and creative writing. Each new interest layering over the last, all melding into a tapestry of skills I'm all too eager to tap into at the given chance. I hope to take this business of mine and explore all my skills over time, in addition to developing new ones.
Pecan Tree Design, the mission
I want to add a bit of my design and style to as many homes as I can. I want people to look at a key place in their room or home and see something that I built for them, something that brings them happiness.
